As the dust settles on the 2024 NFL Draft, football fans across South Carolina are celebrating the remarkable achievements of some of the state's most talented high school football stars. From small towns to big cities, these athletes have captivated audiences with their skill, dedication, and unwavering determination. Let's take a look at the guys from the Palmetto State who had their name called in Detroit.

Xavier Legette - Round 1 Pick 32 - Carolina Panthers - Mullins HS

Everyone loves X's accent, but he's much more than that; he's a force to be reckoned with on the field. From his days at Mullins High School, Xavier Legette showcased an unmatched determination and skill that caught the attention of NFL scouts. He shot up the draft boards after a MONSTER senior season for the Gamecocks.

Andru Phillips - Round 3 Pick 70 - New York Giants - Mauldin HS

Andru might be the first athlete that I remember seeing play in-person since we started Movin' The Chains that has made it to the NFL. He played lockdown corner and some Wildcat QB for Coach Cabaniss's Mavericks. Read more about Andru Phillips and his journey to the NFL.

Xavier Thomas - Round 5 Pick 138 - Arizona Cardinals - Wilson HS

Yes, I know he transferred to IMG Academy for his senior season. I'm still counting him as a Wilson Tiger. While he had some injuries at Clemson, he still showed big-time athleticism. Learn more about Xavier Thomas and his path to the NFL Draft.

Marcellas Dial - Round 6 Pick 180 - New England Patriots - Woodruff HS

Marcellas emerged as a defensive stud during his tenure at Woodruff High School. His prowess on the gridiron, combined with a relentless work ethic, earned him recognition both locally and nationally. Now, he's poised to make an impact in the NFL with the New England Patriots. Check out Marcellas Dial's highlights from his high school days.

With Xavier, Andru, Xavier, and Marcellas making waves in the NFL, it's clear that South Carolina produces football talent that can compete at the highest level. From the small towns to the big leagues, these athletes have shown that determination and skill know no bounds. We know South Carolina kids can ball, and it's time for the rest of the world to catch up and recognize the Palmetto State as a powerhouse of football talent.
